Must be fitted in the Fig 61 position – with the door closer body on the frame and the arm on the door – so check that there’s room for it there. An additional mounting plate is definitely recommended for any door closer fitted to a uPVC door, as this will enable a firm fixing to be made. Preferably fix by bolting right through the uPVC section with long bolts and nice flat washers on the outside to spread the forces (not supplied). We also recommend doing the same sort of reinforcement with the fixing for the arm.
