Grand Designs feature Japanese tatami room with sliding doors

Last night Kevin McCloud’s Grand Designs featured a couple creating a Japanese style home in the Welsh woodlands complete with their own beautiful Tatami room with mats, cushions, Ikebana flower arrangements and sliding paper doors.  When planning large expanses of sliding doors, it is a good plan to think first about the sliding door gear you’ll need, so the bespoke doors can be made to the right dimensions.  Wide doors require long lengths of track, such as the GEZE Rollan 40 sliding track system for timber doors – as long as there is a timber frame of at least 22mm thickness, and the finished doors weight no more than 40 kgs each, then this is a low cost solution and available in lengths of up to 6 metres.

You can now find our sliding door products on our sister site Siding Doorstuff.
