Is there panic hardware for INWARD opening doors?

November 26, 2010 by · Comments Off on Is there panic hardware for INWARD opening doors?

Q: (from John) We have a fire exit door that opens inward and we require to fit a lock that can only work from inside the building, do they make such a thing?
A: The Exidor 500 series works on pull-to-open fire escape doors (as well as the more usual push-to-open).  This is because the handle opens the lock when you pull it upwards as well as when you push it down.  501-B or 502A-B for public access areas, 501-P or 502A-P for workplace areas.

We have an Exidor 500 series panic hardware with a red oval door bar we need replacing as the bar lever that attaches to the lock has snapped, is this spare part available?

If the lever of the locking unit has broken, then the whole thing can be replaced for the price of the locking unit component.  (If it’s the slave unit, then contact us and we can quote you for a replacement part.)  The prices for coloured Exidor products (e.g. ruby red) are on each product page.  It is possible that the one you’re after is the 501-B single point push bar.
