What Is A Pocket Door?

July 9, 2018 by · Comments Off on What Is A Pocket Door?

A pocket door is a type of sliding door that, when open, fits inside a pocket in the wall. This makes the door become “hidden” when it is open. Therefore the door is not visible or in the way of movement, however it can still be shut or locked to provide privacy. Doorstuff supply pocket doors made for timber and frameless glass and also supplies fire-rated door kits. The kits include the track, brackets, runners and stops and, for the fire-rated door kits, intumescent fire seals. The kits contain wall reinforcement to provide structural strength to the wall. We supply kits available for both single and double doors.

Product Spotlight: iMpero Telescopic Pocket Door Kit

February 24, 2018 by · Comments Off on Product Spotlight: iMpero Telescopic Pocket Door Kit

Telescopic pocket door kits allow two doors to be slid back into the single pocket. This allows for bigger clear openings when wall space is restricted enabling more accessibility. The iMpero pocket door kit with telescopic operation links the two doors to allow them to move in harmony to close a large opening while only requiring one pocket. This makes the iMpero pocket door kit perfect for use in a small environment that requires two doors to close a large gap.

The product is available in two doors to one side and four doors, two to each side, variants and the adjustable kits can take doors up to 1300mm wide each and up to 2700mm tall each. For more information on the iMpero Telescopic Pocket Door Kit, please contact us on 0207 099 2822 or email us at sales@doorstuff.co.uk

What is a simultaneous opening kit for sliding door gear?

March 5, 2011 by · Comments Off on What is a simultaneous opening kit for sliding door gear?

Used on double doors sliding on one track, meeting together in the middle and opening to give a wide access space, the doors are connected to each other via a toothed belt so that, when one door opens (or closes) the other door mirrors it automatically, so the doors open together and close together, but only one door leaf is pushed or pulled.  There are simultaneous opening kits available as optional extras to both the Geze Perlan sliding door gear, and the iMpero double pocket door system.
