"Arrow" series 400 slide arm door closer?

January 17, 2010 by helen
Q: (from Lee) I am looking to replace an "arrow" series 400 slide arm door closer but have been unable to find a supplier, are you able to help? A: (from Doorstuff) I'm sorry, we do not stock Arrow door closers, we are a Geze distributor.  Our range of guide rail door closers can be seen here.

We are fitting BRITON 2000 door closers. Would you recommed a door closer to the same spec?

Broadly speaking, the Geze TS2000 door closer family are similar specifications, with each model having it special features.  BRITON 2000 door closers are also a family and you can see more about them here.

Does the Geze T2000NV door closer require a low opening force?

January 28, 2010 by Editor
The TS2000 NV offers no special advantage as far as ease of opening is concerned (it's advantage is it's adjustability).  Depending on the door and the building, we usually recommend a TS3000B slim cam door closer, which is especially suitable for care homes, hospitals & nurseries.  It has a guide rail and cam mechanism, both features contribute to a lower opening force.  But remember, if it's a fire door, it must still meet fire regs, so a TS4000 EFS free swing door closer may be more appropriate.  If you're not sure, discuss your requirements before deciding.
