Media & Press

Doorstuff welcomes technical enquiries from researchers, production companies and the media about meeting fire, building & disability regulations with respect to door furniture.  We are happy to give expert comment where appropriate and also to give background briefing for members of the press who need information on the implications of the regulations and developments in the guidelines. Q: Could you provide adjustment instructions for your medium/heavy duty fire door closure. Unit is 9"+. Not sure if it's working or not?

A: We think you may be describing a Geze TS2000 door closer, the body of which is 226mm long (9" = 229mm).  You can see some fitting and adjusting information on the pdfs at the bottom of the web page .  If you're still struggling, do get in touch on the phone and we'll help if we can.here

Q: Can a Hideaway pocket door kit be fitted from one side of a plasterboard stud partition?

A: Yes, it is possible to fit a Hideaway pocket door system from one side only, we are aware of customers who have done this successfully, although your finished wall thickness will be slightly more than the 115 - 120mm shown in the specifications.  How easy the project is may depend on what you find inside your existing wall when you remove the wallboards.

Q: Recommend a door closer for an arched door?

A: For a heavy arched door you'll need to use EITHER:- a concealed jamb door closer such as the AA145 which may be powerful enough, but check.   OR:- a floor spring door closer, sunk into the floor at the hinge side of the door, check out the product pages here on the website for more information.
