It’s the versatility and reliability, its hard wearing but gentle action we love. While ticking all the regulatory boxes of fire regs, DDA, CE marking etc, it is almost always the best door closer in so many ways. Let me … Continue reading
I need a door closer that is able to close a steel door which is 400kg in weight. The door size is w1000mm x h2050mm.
We recommend looking at a Geze TS4000 tandem (power 7-13), or a TS4000 power 5-7, and caution that this door will be very heavy to open. You can buy them online here, follow the links in the text.
I am looking for a door closer for our fire door that goes from utility room to the integral garage, currently it operates with a spring loaded device (not adjustable) that slams the door shut with a big bang. Can you recommend a door closer which would close the door without slamming it shut?
An overhead hydraulic door closer would be a good solution for your slamming problem. For a large fire door (and width is the most important dimension to consider) you might go for a medium to heavy duty door closer like … Continue reading
I need to fit a door closer on my shop door. Our location is close to the sea in Cornwall and the door in question is facing the sea so the wind is an issue. The closer does not need to be so strong that customers think we are closed but I do need the door to close automatically behind them. When the door opens it goes back against a wall. Please advise!
The door closer we would recommend for your scenario would be the Geze TS4000. It is fully adjustable in power size, so you’ll be able to set it up to operate exactly as you want it, and it’s easy to … Continue reading
Q: I am looking for a door opening rate, and travel extent, restrainer to limit the RATE at which the wind could snatch an outward opening patio door. Closing force should be low or zero. Do any door closers do this? Could any be mounted in reverse to achieve this?
A: What you’re looking for is a “back check” door closer. This feature dampens or brakes the opening, as well as controlling the close as a normal door closer. You can look at the TS2000NVBC or the TS4000 which comes … Continue reading
Q: Recommend a door closer suitable for fitting to a PVC Front door? Fed up with kids slamming the door every time. Door opens inwards.

A: “Back Check” stops the door slamming open; two examples:- on an external door in a windy location back check prevents the wind from “picking up” and opening the door (which might damage the frame at the hinges); or when … Continue reading
I have a hotel fire door which opens 180° and obviously needs a door closer. What product can I use?
The Geze TS2000 door closer will do that, as will the Geze TS4000, we suggest you decide between them by the usual criteria (width of door, frequency of use, ease of power adjustment, your budget, etc)
I am trying to find a device that will stop doors slamming in a breeze – fire doors in a factory that slam closed. Do you sell dampers or an approriate soft closing device?
A good quality door closer will do that job. Please see the link to our heavy duty door closers, and I suggest you look at the Geze TS4000 or the Geze TS2000 BC (back check stops the door slamming open … Continue reading
Q: Please advise which make and model of door closer would be most suitable for a regularly used internal office fire door?
A: Depending upon the traffic experienced by this door AND the type of seals (fire & smoke, acoustic etc?) the best and most adjustable door closer for this situation is the Geze TS4000 which is rated for a million cycles. … Continue reading
