BBC News recently published an article on how plastic surgeons warn that children and toddlers whose fingers are crushed by closing doors can end up with lifelong problems. The information comes form the British Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons that reports that some cases can lead to amputation and long-term pain. The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents revealed that about 30,000 children trap their fingers in doors each year and more than 1,500 of them need surgery.
Luckily this is preventable with finger guards such as the ones featured on our website. These finger shields are simple devices that completely covers the gaps created by the hinges between the door and the frame when the door is open.
